OUR VISION
It is the vision of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the thousands of people living in the surrounding area of Indianapolis, Indiana.
It is the vision of a balanced ministry that equally values and emphasizes all five Biblical Purposes for the local church: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry/Service and Evangelism.
It is the vision of a balanced ministry that helps our members develop intimacy in their relationships with three different groups of people: God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), Believers and Seekers.
It is the vision of a balanced ministry process where all our programs, ministries and environments are intentionally designed to welcome visitors as honored guests, develop friendships with them, and eventually welcome them as partners in ministry and co-workers in our church family.
It is the vision of proclaiming the timeless truths of the Bible in culturally relevant ways, using drama, multi-media, modern music and preaching with practical advice and instruction; essentially telling the old, old story in a new, new way.
It is the vision of providing environments where the helpless, hopeless and disheartened can find help, hope and heart to take one more step and take on one more day.
It is the vision of helping those who feel frustrated, hurt, confused and depressed, find love, acceptance, guidance, encouragement and forgiveness.
It is the vision of modeling a healthy family environment, where members of our church family love, learn, laugh and live in harmony together, pursuing a common purpose and common goals.
It is the vision of helping every member connect to a small group where they can love and be loved, know and be known, care and be cared for.
It is the vision of loving people just as they are, but loving them too much to leave them there. It is the vision of challenging and equipping people to become all that God created and called them to be.
It is the vision of equipping every member for a significant ministry by helping them discover their unique set of gifts, passions, abilities, personality and life experiences designed by God to make them who they are.
It is the vision of developing people to spiritual maturity by establishing a training and retreat center which will offer seminars, Bible studies and conferences for pastors and lay leaders on church leadership, congregational development and church planting.
It is the vision of sending our members on short-term missions trips both in the U.S. and abroad, taking the Good News to people in a practical life-changing way.
It is the vision of a ministry campus of at least 40 acres of land, on which will be built ministry facilities for a regional church for Central Indiana - with beautiful, yet simple, facilities including a multi- purpose worship center that seats 3,000 people, state of the art children and youth facilities, recreation facilities, a counseling and prayer center, and classrooms for Bible studies and training.
It is the vision of welcoming at least 2,000 members into Abundant Life World Outreach Ministries within the next 10 years and seeing them transformed into fully devoted followers of Christ.
OUR MISSION
Our Mission
Our mission is summarized in just one, easy-to-remember core mission statement:
We exist to Transform Lives and Serve Jesus Christ by combining culturally relevant teaching, creative and passionate worship, and a faith-based community.
Our Goal
Good goals are always specific and measurable. When we see seeking people get involved in our church, and over time, see them transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, who in turn bring other seeking people into the church, we know we're meeting our goal of transforming 2,000 lives by the end of 2014.
Our Model
Our model for meeting our mission and goal is based on God's Word and the example of the first church in Acts 2:42-47 and on the Great Commandment and the Great Commission:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
1. The Great Commandment: Jesus replied, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments." - Matthew 22:26-40 (NLT)
2. The Great Commission: Jesus said: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20
We believe a Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will build a Great Church.
